Bluebell image finds pride of place at new Midwife Led Birthing Unit

Warwick Hospital will open a new Midwife-Led Birthing Unit on Monday (2 July) and Offspring Photography is delighted that one of Bailey’s images has been chosen to add a bright and homely statement in one of its fantastic new labour rooms.

“The image of a bluebell wood was taken in May this year and was the perfect fit for the new unit which is called Bluebell Birth Centre,” said Bailey.  “The photo has been selected by the midwives at Warwick Hospital so I am especially proud that it was chosen.”

The new birthing centre includes four birthing rooms each with a pool for water births, plus a garden and relaxation room for expectant and new parents.

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust funded the building of the £1.6 million facility with a further fundraising appeal of £200,000 to buy enhanced furnishings and equipment to make it more homely and comfortable.

Offspring’s photo, which was donated to the unit, is on display in Room 2 of the four-room modern birthing suite.

Bailey added, “It has been printed large format onto an acrylic which is fantastic as it really makes the colours ‘pop’.  It’s nice to think I am contributing in a small way to the relaxing and calming feel of the rooms and perhaps helping to make women feel more comfortable during their labour.”
