Sharing the love
There is a fantastic community of businesses and organisations in Warwickshire and the North Cotswolds who provide amazing services for families from bump, baby and beyond.
I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you all those that I love and am delighted to recommend!
Phys-ogue offers fabulous fitness classes for pre- and post-pregnancy. Led by fitness trainer and former midwife, Bernadette Fogarty, the Expectations class for bumps and Wheelie Fit Mums buggy fit classes for mum and baby are a fun way to get fit, meet other mums and get some ‘me’ time too. Bernadette’s knowledge and understanding of the physiological changes that a woman goes through pregnancy, means she can expertly support you through your fitness journey. Her sessions are designed to ensure that you exercise to safe levels and that won’t push your body to injury. It’s not to say her workouts aren’t tough because they are. I can honestly say I was fitter during my time at Wheelie Fit than before my pregnancy.
For all pregnancy and post-natal education and support go to Bump2Baby Reality. As a former ‘student’ of their antenatal classes I can confidently recommend them as a great option for you and your partner. The classes arm you with the information you need to confidently prepare for labour and your newborn’s arrival and are a great place to forge new friendships.
The weekly Wednesday coffee morning at Leek Wootton Village Hall is also a really friendly and welcoming place to go once baby is born with experts on hand to handle questions on feeding, sleep and all manner of things that crop up when you have a baby.
Baby First Aid classes
Enrolling on a Baby First Aid class is one of the most important and worthwhile things you can do as a new parent. The classes facilitated by Bump2Baby Reality and delivered by trainers who are active First Community Responders equip you with the skills and knowledge to deal with emergencies.
The Well Centre
The Well Centre offers both antenatal and postnatal pilates sessions. The antenatal class is suitable for all stages of pregnancy and when baby is born you can both pop along to the postnatal class which will help to get you back into shape after childbirth. The pilates teachers are highly qualified and professionally they are all Chartered Physiotherapists. And if that’s not enough, they’re a really friendly bunch too!
Warwick Arts Centre
I am extremely proud to be a Family Ambassador for Warwick Arts Centre. The Ambassadors are a small group of mums and dads who help to shape the fantastic family programme at the centre. We meet regularly to generate ideas, offer feedback and review the family events and activities throughout the year. We also manage the Family Friendly Warwick Arts Centre Facebook page which is well worth a look! I believe the centre is a massive asset to families in Warwickshire, offering amazing cultural experiences (some FREE) for children of all ages and strongly encourage parents to take advantage of what’s on offer.
I love this class! It’s never too early to introduce your child to a second language. I first started taking my son Grayson to Bilinguasing’s Spanish classes in Leamington Spa when he was 2 years old and his sister Georgia started when she was only a couple of days old! It combines music and song with visual props and sensory experiences to help develop their early foreign language skills. Bilinguasing runs French and Spanish classes in Leamington Spa and Coventry.
As a violinist and former music student, I couldn’t wait to introduce music to my babies. Monkey Music is such a fun class and it’s a such a pleasure as a mum to see your little one get to grips with playing different instruments and enjoy new sounds and actions from week to week.
I first came across Coolsportz when photographing their summer school and was so impressed with all the active experiences and coaching they offer to young people – tennis coaching, football, cricket, hockey, trampolining among them. Check out the school holiday sports camps in Henley in Arden,Warwick and Studley too.
