Offspring Photography proud to support the Raising Money for Warwick SCBU fundraising appeal

Offspring Photography has chosen a very special charity to support this year. In fact, it’s supporting two very special ladies who have chosen to dedicate a huge amount of time to raising money for the Warwick Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).

Lucy Field took on the challenge of raising £10,000 for SCBU last year after the ward treated her newborn daughter Evelyn-Mae.  She has since been joined by her friend Nicki Scott whose daughter was also cared for by the midwifery staff and doctors at the specialist unit.  They smashed their target at the end of the year and rather than simply put their feet up and raise a glass of bubbly to celebrate they decided to push on into 2018 with a new target of £20,000 {I’m sure a glass or two of bubbly may also have been consumed!}.

Their calendar is packed full of fundraising events from a Cheese and Wine evening, Danceathon and Ladies Night to a SCBU Fest at Jephson Gardens in Leamington Spa, a fun one-day family event with lots of local entertainment and activities.  The year will be rounded off with a breakfast and afternoon tea event with Santa.

Offspring Photography will be supporting the events throughout the year with official photography and will also be holding special photo sessions at SCBU Fest and Breakfast/Afternoon Tea with Santa to help raise money to meet this year’s fundraising target.

“It’s so wonderful to be able to support Lucy and Nicki on their fundraising campaign. My son was in SCBU for a brief time before being transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. As first time parents we found ourselves on a rollercoaster of emotions, but what got us through was seeing the incredible expertise and skills of the staff who were responsible for his care – we knew he was in safe hands.

“The Special Care Baby Unit supports hundreds of families each year and it is such a vital resource for the area – it is lovely to think the money raised will help to buy equipment that will improve care and also make the parent’s time in the unit a little easier at the same time.”
